Stumbled upon it as we were passing through town going from Saint Louis to Shreveport. It will be a stop every year now. Excellent food and even better margaritas!!
Delicious food at a great price! Great servers! Clean environment. Will be back!
Salsa and chips were good. Beef enchilada dinner was not freshly cooked hot but leftover style.
We stopped off here for a late lunch on our way home from camping at Cossatot. We sat at the bar, our server was super, the food came out fast and was delicious. If you’ve eaten at Superior Bar & Grill, this place has a similar vibe and food. Yum!
First time eating here Great food and service and the Margarita's were perfect!
Brilliant food and service! Nice atmosphere.
Great service. Most authentic mexican meal within 200 miles of Texarkana. Pricing is a bit high for portion size but we felt it was worth it. Men’s restroom could do without the bikini pictures- come on Zapatas, the half naked models weren’t even mexican. For this reason, I wouldn’t consider it a suitable family restaurant.
Zapata's really has some wonderful staff and may I add honest people working for them I lost my wallet there and it stayed there for two weeks are more. And one of the workers there name Mis Debra look me up on Facebook and ask did I leave a wallet there well we are not friends so it went too spam messages so I didn't see it when it came through I was just playing with my phone and stumbled across the message and replyed back and set a time and picker it up. Oh what a happy woman I was. So a big shout out too Mis Debra and all the Zapata's staff. Oh yes the food and drinks was on point 👌😊
Great dishesWonderful taste Clean Fast service
Great food. The wait to be seated on the other hand was ridiculous.
A friend told us what a great place this was, he was right. Located downtown away from the traffic, the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was delicious, muy sabroso. Our waitress was attentive and the food arrived quickly.
We love it. You gotta get the baked queso.
True Hispanic food, without the Tex-Max. Great food and service.
Awesome experience! Great food!
My first time here was around 2000 and once again it was a fun evening with family and good food. Both my daughters had quesadillas one chicken and one beef. They both loved them. I had the Del Rio. We had the cheese queso and I loved it cause it's real cheese and not the fake stuff... Daughters didn't much like the texture... The chips were tiny and I call this kind messy chips cause the chips are so small your gonna get salsa on your fingers. Guess I could have just poured some in my salsa bowel and ate them with a fork. now down to my food...It was a nice presentation, hot and ok. Everything tasted the same... I guess because of the red sauce. Maby back when I drank years ago I enjoyed this place much better. The staff is the best in the ArkLaTex and it is a landmark but be ready for premium price. I will be back again in one day but tie there are several other choices at better prices.
Price is way to high.shared fajitas for one with my wife and both had water to drink the bill still was iver $30. Thats rediculous. Tell the truth they were definitely NO better than any ine elses.
Some locals told us that this was the best tex-mex in town but expensive. We actually found the food prices to be pretty cheap - particularly for the huge combo plates. However, the margarita pitcher was almost a scam - $30 for a single liter of mostly ice and maybe two or three shots of tequila in the whole thing.
Awesome food and even better service!
Apparently the margaritas for happy hour are potent 💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️
Fantastic food and service! One of the best beef fajita burrito's I've ever had. Atmosphere is great. Service was prompt. Food is a bit pricey, but it is sooo good!
Food was fresh, hot and tasty. We had the hard tacos and the shrimp tacos. Both were delicious. The service was very responsive and the food came out fast. The ice cream pie was recommended by our waitress and was outstanding. It had several layers that combined to create a sweet delicious finish to the meal.
My wife and I went for dinner this week after hearing good things about Zapatas. $54 later we were not impressed. The food was good but not that good. For the price and quality go to El Chico's. We generally get the special at El chico's and drinks are much cheaper. We paid $7 per Margarita (small) during happy hour. Sorry, but we will never visit this place again unless someone else is paying.
ALWAYS excellent service. ALWAYS delicious food. Our favorite restaurant.
The food was great, as was the atmosphere. If you like fish, try the seafood platter with Mahi and shrimp. Quick and friendly service also.
Best Mexican restaurant in Texarkana and a top 5 restaurant overall.
Best meal I have had in a long time. 5 quail breasts stuffed with cheese and peppers wrapped in bacon. If you're hungry this will do the trick. Great service at the right pace, we were there at 7 on a Wednesday so results may vary. Wife had fish tacos, said they were great.
Food is of the highest quality. And the drinks are like no other. Best waiter there is Marco.
Food is okay, buy SO OVERPRICED!!! Their fajitas for 2 are like 40, and you can only make 2 fajitas out of them. They come out half chard on the outside, yuck. The atmosphere is cool. Bathrooms are usually on the gross side. And it takes forever to get your food. Kids meals are nasty, dont waste your money.
Great food prices a Little high
Waa told it was the best Mex place in Texarkana by the Hampton hotel staff. Made the easy drive and arrived just in time for happy hr. The Margaritas are awesome. I had 2 simple brisket tacos, steet style. Excellent! The next time I'm in Texarkana I'll be back. I'll be a regular 2-3x a yr ha! If you're traveling thru or have never tried it, you need to stop in.
Over priced!!! I would give zero stars if possible. I will never waste money at this place again. Food was edible but absolutely not worth the over inflated prices they charge. They think way more highly of their food than they should.
Good food and great service, Rojo was our waiter and he was really cool and constantly kept our drinks full. I'd highly reccomend it if you find yourself downtown one weekend.
Great food ! We will be back again for sure.
I had crawfish enchiladas. Good!Reasonable prices and an original menu. Beautiful atmosphere with high ceilings.
It was my Mom's 80th Birthday. And had a party of 20 on a Friday night! They took good care of us. I tip my hat to them
It was fine. A little loud for this introvert's tastes. We'll probably go back, but the protein in the crawfish enchiladas was a little skimpy. It's probably just a matter of finding the right dish.
The food was absolutely delicious. Our server was hands down one of the best wait staff I've ever had the pleasure of being waited on by. I believe his name was Joe. Very attentive without coming too often to our table.
Very high quality food, service, and atmosphere.
Love the food and they have friendly staff!
Meh, don't get the hype. Food was ok, margs ok. Service was great.
Absolute best margarita in town! The staff are fantastic and the food is always consistent and amazing.
We came across.this restaurant by accident on a road trip. The food was great. Wish they were in the St. Louis/ St. Charles area. Would recommend this restaurant. Slightly pricey, but good food.
Great food. Always busy. Love the atmosphere and service is fantastic and friendly.
The bartender named Brandon is the best bartender I have ever had. Humor, and good service, you rly can't beat it. Plus the food was fantastic! Can't wait to come back ☺️
The restaurant itself is very nice, huge and well kept. The food was flavorful, fresh and fast. The service was simply impeccable. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.
We love this place for their AWESOME MARGARITAS & GREAT ATMOSPHERE.
Good service. Friendly staff. Chips must be bought in mass quantity and not made on site.....stale. Same with salsa....must be 5 gal. Warehouse purchase and not very good. A disappointment for a class place. TIP: do not go in the afternoon, ordered a dish with chicken it tasted very good but was dry.
Zapata's is THE place to find the crowd in Texarkana and Shreveport. The food is excellent and the vibe is very cool. Service is excellent.
Zapata’s is one of, if not THE, best restaurant in Texarkana. I’ve been here several times when on various trips to the area. It’s a great place for lunch or dinner. I really like the chips and salsa. Good all around Mexican food and great service. Margaritas are awesome too!
Excellent as always... Thank you, ManuelCertainly was great see you
